Extension Model Opportunities in Philly
At Parlour Hair Enhancements, we occasionally invite people to participate in training sessions or new method testing. Anyone can apply, you don’t have to be a client of ours, or even a runway model, you just open to having a stylist-in-training work on your hair. These opportunities allow our team to refine advanced techniques in keratin bond and weft extensions, while giving models the chance to experience our extensions services at a reduced cost.
Models receive 50% off their service. These costs vary depending on length, texture, and color, but typically range from $1,000–$1,200. All hair is provided by Parlour; outside hair cannot be used. Please note: model opportunities are one-time only, subject to availability, and final (no refunds or adjustments, as pricing reflects only business overhead.)
How It Works
Location: All model services are performed in the salon.
Consultation: Consultations must be completed in person so we can choose and prep your hair properly. Virtual consults are not available for models.
Extensions Offered: Keratin bond and Genius weft installations.
Ideal Candidates: We especially welcome models with naturally dark, curly, or wavy hair, though most hair types and colors are accepted.
Who Performs the Service: Your install will be completed by an assistant in training. Jacob may demo a technique but often will not be present for the entire service.
Expectations: As a model, your appointment may take extra time, and adjustments may be needed afterward. Any issues must be addressed within 1–2 weeks so the student can fix them.
Cost: Models do not pay for the installation itself, only for the hair and prep. While we are normally a gratuity-free salon, tips are welcomed for models.
By applying, you acknowledge that model appointments are a training opportunity. The experience is not the same as booking a full client service, but it is a chance to save significantly while helping a new stylist gain valuable hands-on practice.

Everything you need to know before applying to be a hair model.

What's the discount for being a hair model?
«Hair models get a 50% discount off our regular pricing in exchange for participating in our training session. The hair model discount is one time only. Hair maintenance appointments are a regular price.
Is tipping expected for hair model services?
«Tipping your stylist in training is allowed. While hair model appointments are offered at a reduced rate to support stylist education and training, they simply cover the salon’s expenses. If you’d like to show appreciation for your stylist-in-training, tips are always welcomed.
How often do you need hair models and when is the next training session?
«We are always taking model applications! We are constantly training our staff and need different looks based on where the stylist is at in their training. It is best to fill out the form and we will get back to you.
What services are available to hair models?
«All of our hair extensions and hair loss services.
Can anyone apply to be a hair model?
«Yes, as long as they are a first time client and have never had extensions with us in the past. Model opportunities are a one time thing.
Do hair models get to choose the color, length, and texture of the extensions?
«We'll talk about your desired look but being a hair model is more of a collaboration. Models often are chosen for specific looks or hair types to help staff build their skill set. While we will always ask about your goals and try to ensure they are met, it is important to note that not every look may be possible during training for a model discount. It is best to fill out the form and we will get back to you on what is possible.
Can I come back for maintenance at the hair model rate?
«While we'd love to see you back here for your maintenance, model rates are a one time thing. So if your installation was discounted at our training rate, your maintenance appointments will be at regular price.
Why do hair models need to show up in person for a consultation? I would rather consult virtually.
«It is important to physically come in to the salon so that Jacob can assess your hair and create a plan with the stylist who will be training on your installation. This must be in person because the stylist performing the work may not be as experienced. We want everyone who takes part in the model program to enjoy their install. Part of that enjoyment comes from collaborating in person on what the final look will be. If you can not come in person and want to consult virtually, please fill out a hair extensions pre-screening form for a consultation instead.
Can I be a hair model for Jacob?
«At this time, Jacob does not take hair models. He will however be involved in the training process for staff in training. He will perform the hair model's consultation but won't be the one doing the installation.
"I had the absolute honor of being a model for Micky, and this experience was so much more than just “getting my hair done.” It felt like a powerful return to myself… something I didn’t realize I needed so deeply after becoming a mom. Since giving birth, my hair hasn’t felt the same, and to have it back, even just for a few months, has been nothing short of therapeutic.
This wasn’t just a service, it was an experience. I traveled all the way from Richmond, VA, and let me tell you: it was worth every single dime. I had never made such a significant cosmetic investment in myself before, and I’m so grateful I don’t regret a second of it.
The process was seamless: a virtual consultation, then an in-person appointment to perfectly match my color and texture. From the moment we started, Micky was intentional, attentive, and warm. She took the time to talk through my questions and made me feel seen, heard, and completely at ease. I didn’t have many concerns… but if I had, I know I’d have felt comfortable bringing them up. She truly made me feel like a queen for the day. I burst into tears when I saw the finished result.
This was more than hair, it was healing. I will never forget this experience or the gift Micky gave me. If you’ve been on the fence, this is your sign: just book the appointment. You won’t regret it."
